Here are the answers to the most frequent questions asked by the community.
Time to get started with PaperScan!

Most probably, before making the purchase you have used the free trial to see how it works. If so, all you have to do is register your purchased key (provided by our reseller) by entering it in the trial version at application Main Menu / Help / Register.
If you didn't download a trial, just go to either our general downloads page or to the dedicated page of the PaperScan Edition you own and click "Download Trial". Then enter the key as described above.
No. Medium/minor releases update is free (ie: from 1.x to 1.y). Not only is it free but we also recommend you to make updates when available as they contain new features and bug fixes.
All you have to do is make the download from either the general Download page or by clicking the "Download" button on the dedicated page of the Edition you own. PaperScan will remember your commercial key, so you will not have to re-enter it again for registration even if uninstalling your existing version will be required before installing the latest one.
In the first step of the "Save" wizard, uncheck the PDF-OCR format then click on "Next" to go to next step of the wizard.
The next dialog that will appear contains two fields :

File name
Save as Type
The "Save as type" option contains a dropdown list from where you can select the desired format (PDF, TIFF, JPEG, PNG or JBIG2).
Remember you can also set encryption (for PDF format) and quality (for JPEG), using the "Other options" button from step-1 menu of the "Save" wizard.
